My Car is for Sale →
I’ve been thinking of selling my car for a few months now and I’ve decided to take action. If you know anyone in the Bay Area that might be interested, pass on the link! I really appreciate it.

My Photos as Desktop Backgrounds (Wallpaper) →
I decided to create a set for some of my photos that I think make decent desktop backgrounds. I tend to prefer backgrounds that are natural and have no real focal point. There’s not many now, but I plan to keep adding to the set.

Air Video for iPhone →
This has to be one of the most amazing apps for the iPhone yet. Steve Streza mentioned it on twitter and it really sounded too good to be true.
Point a piece of server software to your video library on your computer and stream anything to your iPhone. If it doesn’t playback natively, it will transcode it live on the fly. Not only that, if your video has subtitles or multiple audio tracks...

Descent down Mount Hamilton. Another one of my favorite local roads. It’s about a 30 minute drive of windy roads. Practically no cars during the weekdays.

Ask me Questions →
I gave this a try on twitter today and it’s definitely an interesting idea. If they can create a nice API, it could be a nice subsection of your blog.

My 2nd video with the indislider. Not perfect, but I think it came out pretty well (for a video “newbie”). Go watch the larger version on vimeo!
I finally received my indiSlider, indiFocus, and indiRails hardware today. This is a quick (and very rough) test video of the results.

My Deviantart Account →
I haven’t been active in that community for years, but I do add some of my recent drawings there just because it’s where they belong. I have drawings there that span back to when I was in high school (19 years ago!). On a related note, I’ve kept pretty much every single drawing I’ve done ever since high school. I have a big box full of sketchbooks and class notes that I...

Pastebot, the 3rd App from Tapbots. More info available at http://pastebot.com (at least it is when the server isn’t being hammered to death). Shot with my trusty ol’ 5D Mark II.

A great puzzle game with gorgeous hand-drawn graphics and great music…and it’s full of robots! The game is developed in flash so you can actually play the first part of the game on the website. Definitely try it out and support the devs by paying for the full game if it’s your cup of tea.

Pulled Over For Speeding
Sometimes a little honesty and friendliness (and maybe having a cool car!) can save your butt when you get pulled over. :D
So I was out for a drive this afternoon, looking for a place to grab lunch. Posted speed limit on this road was 45mph, but most cars drive at around 50-60. Lunch traffic was over so I was cruising at a comfortable speed and all of a sudden, I notice a motorcycle officer...

A Thought on Flash iPhone Apps
I’ve been thinking a bit about the news of Adobe’s Flash CS5 being able to convert/compile (whatever the term is in this case) .SWFs into .IPAs. Now there are obvious concerns like performance and battery life when running these apps. There’s also concerns about a flood of crappy flash apps (as if there already isn’t enough crappy cocoa touch apps) on the app store. But...

Gonna be a Daddy
Well it was only a matter of time. I’m 32 years old and my wife and I have been married for about 5 years now. I had all my fun being a kid, and now it’s time for me to grow up and raise one myself. I always wanted to have kids, but I never felt ready to commit my life to raising them until now. It’s an exciting time for me and in 7 months, I’m sure my life will change...

Welcome to the new markjardine.com
Well, I’ve finally done it. I’ve been wanting to move to tumblr for almost a year now. Personal site updates have always been a painful process for me, and while I’m not completely satisfied with the new site, it’s a step forward from the previous. I can now post content longer than 140 characters! My previous site just blindly aggregated content from various sites I used...
